Once used as a summer home to a wealthy landowner, the Casona building dates back to the 18th century. Later the charm filled country house became the focus of a small group of professionals who decided to turn the property into a Hotel, restaurant and art gallery.
Among the group of friends there were artists and painters from the School of Rome who decided to recreate the interior rooms using themes from the Italian Renaissance, often described as
“one of the most beautiful and daring so far”
The six double rooms and two suites are decorated with light pastel shades & gleaming whites to frame the detailed artwork on the headboards and ceilings. Each room has been named after one of the areas around the ‘Fenauso valley’ which can be seen from the windows of the hotel.
All guest rooms within Casona contain an en-suite bathroom with contemporary hints, rustic charm and home from home luxuries (including, fluffy robes & slippers plus the all important basket with complimentary toiletries for the ladies!). Each feature and design combine to create the perfect romantic haven, perfect for special occasion holidays and luxury breaks.
Restaurant "La Bodega" offers a cosy, warm and rustic ambience. The Canarian menu focuses on simple local dishes which are expertly prepared using local produce, served with wine from the surrounding Bodegas.

An ancient cavern within the basement level of the hotel is now an atmospheric art gallery. The cavern was once a water storage area 'El Aljibe', but in recent years the room has been dedicated to displaying the contemporary works of locals artists.
The hotel is Ideally situated in a small Canarian village halfway between the dramatic volcanic scenery of the 'Timanfaya National Park' and the sandy beaches of Papagayo (Playa Blanca) in the south. This is not only a convenient base for exploring, but also an appealing holiday location for visitors who enjoy history and beauty in equal measures. Yaiza has repeatedly been crowned the best-kept village in Lanzarote and on occasion, the whole of Spain.
Sister hotel Hilario is also situated in the village of Yaiza within five minutes walk of La Casona click here to view details.
