The Uga retreat is located in a rural area at the highest peak of the village of Uga, called El Morro. This beautiful and peaceful haven is ideally located for visitors who wish to have a peaceful rustic holiday in the south of the island, off the beaten track yet within arms reach of Lanzarotes finest areas -

Located on the edge of the National Park of Timanfaya, a few minutes from La Geria wine region which is an area of natural beauty famous for its vineyards. The Uga Retreat is also within easy reach of the ever popular tourist resort Playa Blanca, El Golfo fishing village and the stunning natural Papagayo beaches which are only a 10 minute journey from the Uga.

The accommodation comprises Seven individually designed suites , fully equipped and self contained.

The main house dates to the XVIII century and was tastefully restored some 10 years ago in the typical Canarian style, using original materials and other antique fixtures & fittings. The result is an ambience which provides homely surroundings and a relaxing environment.

About the houses

Each suite has been designed with the care and attention to detail - Colonial iron and glass lamps, silk material, Victorian baths, Arabic tiles saved from old Andalucían patios and arched volcanic ceilings. In each house you will enter into an exquisite and special atmosphere.

Colour schemes and decoration reflect an eastern approach obtained by using natural pigments along with locally obtained stone , lava and tiling. Also all the materials used are non toxic and ecological, as natural oils to nurture the woods from ceilings and doors as well as lime stone for washing the thick stone walls of the building.
